A story about a young, immigrant mother who kept her culture alive through the food she prepared.

Meet Arifa!

Arifa immigrated from Bangladesh as a young wife and mother at the age of 21. While raising her three daughters in a foreign land, she brought a piece of her culture with her through the meals they shared together as a family.

From raising dozens of crops in her garden every summer to providing a home-cooked meal with those same organic vegetables every night, Arifa showed her daughters their roots with every dish.

At the start of 2023, Arifa became inspired to share her passion for food and gardening with the world.

Soon enough, Arifa was taking orders!

Sharing videos of her cooking and gardening online reconnected Arifa with her community. Being welcomed into a space that celebrated food and culture ignited Arifa’s drive to do more with her passions. As she gained recognition for her videos, she formed a plan to turn her passion project into a fully-fledged catering business. From family get-togethers, to baby showers and small weddings, to iftar parties, Arifa brought a taste of her kitchen to homes everywhere.

This is the story of an immigrant mother sharing her culture with her community.
